I have been with the company close to a year now. If I could choose two words to explain my first impression of the company, they would be "driven" and "welcoming". From the get go, you feel welcome. The office is a fun, relaxed place and everyone is very friendly. Not to be confused, though, as everyone is very driven towards success. This mindset where everyone is driven and constantly finding ways to be more successful and efficient, becomes a contagious culture. I'm not sure where the previous negative reviews of management are coming from. I can approach my manager or even director if I have a question and they will always make time to help. All goals are attainable and as a remote employee, yes, you must be self motivated and well organized in the sense of time management. I have really enjoyed it so far !
