Pluspunten

Some great individuals with whom to work.

Minpunten

Almost too many to list. People leave jobs because of poor management, and this is no exception. - The attitude of "It's just a paycheck" and "that's someone else's problem or responsibility is rampant. This is not a place for someone with a career. In my 8 months there, I didn't meet a single person who was genuinely happy to be there. - Being asked to "own the issue" and be held accountable but having to rely on other teams who are not held accountable. - Watched them let go 80% of a team by telling them on Tuesday, that Friday was their last day. They didn't even have the decency to give the recruiters a heads up. - No Bonuses. Regardless of the value you bring. None. Ever. - Peers and co workers offer help sparingly and begrudgingly because they've been told many times by mgmt not to allow questions from others take time away from "making their numbers". - A member of my own team was let go and we didn't know about it for days. Once I found out, I had to convince the manager that it was protocol to let the rest of the team know, for multiple reasons. - Saw a manager publicly berate a member in front of multiple teams. When I had a private discussion about this I was told by that manager and his manager, that it was none of my business and that publicly berating and shaming in front of their peers was an "acceptable style of management". (This person's attitude is HR's worst nightmare.) - Had management encouraging people that as long as they weren't "seriously" ill, to not take any sick time off work, that they should "just power through it". Said manager changed tune when illness around the office spread like wildfire. - Hard work is not valued nor recognized which has lent itself to a pervasive attitude of doing just enough work so as to keep from getting fired. Coming in early, working through lunch, staying late, taking on projects from other teams will get you absolutely nothing. If you're a hard worker by nature, this is not the place for you. - Brought in as 6 months to hire. Softpro then reneged on conversion to hire and without any discussion with me, told my recruiter they were going to "just keep me on contract". In support, Softpro has mid-career technical staff being managed by those who have neither the skills nor temperament to manage a night shift cleaning crew at McDonalds, much less a software application support group.

Pluspunten

It used to have an amazing culture. People were rewarded for their hard work. There was a path forward in your career. The company was like a fun group of friends. Going to the office was great. We were innovating and doing some really creative work. Then they put someone that had been removed from running two departments in charge of the product roadmap that had no experience in product development. But the individual was the C suite’s star child - so it killed any momentum to be competitive and half the engineering team left within several months.

Minpunten

Many SVP and senior roles on a power trip and they are the reason so many key employees leave. They are grossly under qualified for the roles that they have but have been there for so long and are stuck in their inability to think larger due to lack of experience/education. You will rarely level up in your role and the new employees that are brought in make an insane amount more than their long term employees. Loyalty means nothing to them anymore. It’s how you play the game with the “managers.”
