Vacation time Carrier advancement (for me) Great people to work with (except senior management) Many people I worked with were very driven and self-motivated. Unfortunately without effective management this was not enough to drive the company to profitability. This is the company's greatest strength that is always overlooked.
Minpunten
On the clock 24 hours. Very few understand appropriate escalation procedures even when documented in an OCAP. No accountability for engineers (especially if you’re German). Processes were changed on the fly without adequate data or an understanding of secondary effects. This led to MANY excursions which mysteriously resolved themselves without any understanding of root cause so they would often return. Layoffs made based on 'company need' and not individual performance or aptitude. Many promotions were based on who you know not what you can do.
