Minpunten
Installer-training was bad; Class was an absolute nightmare with a teacher who would teach students things the wrong way, and was more interested in taking a 30 minute break every 2 hours. Field training was erratic; constantly got pulled out of training to run equipment over to other technicians an hour away. Bad equipment; I had 3 trucks die on me in 9 months. Also, equipment for installs is scarce and doesn't work half of the time. Hours are wasted on the phone with dispatch (great folks by the way) to try and get stuff to work. Management claims it's "quality over quantity", but expect many phone calls during jobs asking "what's taking so long", and sometimes a manager will just say "cut your losses and go to the next job". The next day you can expect to be chewed out for not doing a job properly. Obvious favoritism among managers; if an employee is willing to spy and snitch on coworkers, they'll have a bright future. Quality control is very subjective; one QA tech will mark you down on something that another QA tech will let slide. Also, QA's are supposed to be done within 24 hours (preferably within an hour after a job is completed). I've had some done at least 72 hours after completion. And got marked off because a customer disconnected a router from a computer. If they want you gone they'll do anything to demotivate you, up to the point where you'd consider injuring yourself just to not having to deal with their nonsense anymore.
