7yWe never like to hear that someone has had a less than favorable experience with the company. We do have aggressive goals, which is necessary to be the leader in the connected vehicle space. As a result, we need every employee to be fully engaged and pushing hard to achieve this, which is not for everyone.
I am very proud of the extremely talented team we have built here at Spireon. It's the best team I've worked with in my 20 years in tech. Across every technology function - Product Management, SW and HW Engineering, DevOps, Technical Program Management, and IT - we have hired and retained some of the best and the brightest people in the industry. Many of our strongest contributors are those that have been with us the longest, and we value their dedication and loyalty. Our compensation and benefits are very competitive, and we work hard to ensure that it remains so.
Over the past 2 years, we have indeed expanded our offshore presence. However, we have NOT decreased the size or strength of our on-shore team. Rather, we have expanded them and dramatically strengthened our bench of talented and experienced technologists. We are a dynamic company, and must leverage both off-shore and on-shore expansion to support this growth, as well as to enable our US-based personnel to better focus on future innovation. As a result, we have won several awards, filed a record number of patents, released industry-leading products, and achieved substantial growth in new product adoption.
While we do encourage employees to post reviews on Glassdoor, we don’t dictate the contents of reviews.
As the team's leader and a former naval officer, my management style is shaped by honesty, integrity, discipline and keeping cool under pressure. I have an open door policy, and am very interested in honest and direct feedback from anyone on the team at any time. I have worked hard to ensure that every team has strong leadership technically, as well as in motivating their teams and collaborating with their peers. In addition, we all work hard to facilitate the success of our teams by ensuring that every individual has the resources and tools they need to get their job done.
I hope my response will help to shed light on some of the concerns described in this review. Once again, I regret seeing anyone leave unhappy, and I encourage any prospective candidates to speak to our current employees and not just former employees.
