Sprung is a delightful and fun company that is rapidly growing, and bringing with it bigger projects and opportunities. The clients are very exciting, and the management defends work/life balance with a determination that is rare to find in games development. Some overtime still occurs (maybe working until 6pm rather than 5pm), but is avoided wherever possible. The diversity of the studio is an asset, as there is a lot of international experience and people of multiple cultures, languages, gender and sexuality, and other identity aspects. It is healthy for creative influences, and fun for socialising. Sprung takes on a lot of junior staff, and so it presents a great opportunity for designers trying to break into the games industry that usually has very few entry level roles - and many go straight into working on projects for huge clients! The company has exciting plans, which is great motivation to stay around and help it grow. It also had an effective COVID response plan, and shifted to a WFH model smoothly.

Expect some growing pains from being a studio that was previously small and has expanded rapidly. Salaries start on the lower end of industry brackets, but high performance is very well rewarded, with first salary review coming at the end of a short probation period. Workplace provided health insurance helps with this a lot too. Generally inflexible work hours (8:30-5 is expected every day). Before COVID no working from home was permitted. Both of these can be annoying, especially if you've come from a flexible hours environment before.
