Great products. Being the best on the market is a huge plus. There are some lovely customers. The job itself is a nice role.

Internal politics are a joke. Bullying is uncontrolled.

Hi there Thank you for your review and your advice for the management. Even if the score is not what we want to achieve – the thoughts are appreciated. I think a get your major point, which was not hard to find out. As you know, we are growing, growing because of our tremendous success over the past years. Most of it because of the excellent work of you guys in the regions. You are our voice, eyes and ears at our customers. Believe me that we are aware of the growing pains we all experience – during my time here the number of employees grew from 3.300 up to more than 5.500 today – within less than two years. And it still continues. One of the effects of such an amazing success story (and it is nothing less than this) is that the organization and its structural design is always a little bit behind the growth. The reason is simple: To realize a healthy growth you have to prove the sustainability of your actions before you invest heavily. This is not easy – we know that. As you also should know we are in the process of building a sustainable and well-working structure also in the UK. That includes capacity, empowerment, and qualification. Concerning the behaviors of colleagues (you mentioned “old” staff vs. new starters) my answer is also very simple: If this happened it collides heavily with our working philosophy including our core behaviors (Remember them? I must admit that I did not had the chance to visit you folks in the UK but I know the HR Manager very well – she is definitely a very good one with a high commitment to the values we live here in the group – one of the most engaged colleagues I have here at Straumann. I could not imagine that she would not have listened to you if you had shared your thoughts with her. But this should not end up in finger-pointing. Obviously, we were not able to offer you the environment that you need to address your concerns – which makes me sad. Here is my request for you (and my offer in the same moment): I would love to find out more if you are willing to share it with me because for us it is the chance to learn what went wrong and how to fix it. I worked at Straumann and enjoyed many of the people I worked with, but prospective employees should understand that job security may not be as stable as it initially appears. Management often spoke positively about the future, yet our team was ultimately affected by a layoff due to business decisions. My experience was that communication regarding long-term stability was inconsistent, which made it difficult to plan for the future. If you’re considering a position here, I would recommend asking detailed questions about business outlook, workforce planning, and how the company has handled layoffs in the past. While everyone’s experience may differ, I think it’s important for candidates to be aware that organizational changes can happen unexpectedly.
