Pluspunten
Not many, pay was average, benefits were ok, PTO system was better than anywhere else I have worked as far as accrual and amount, except there is never really an opportunity to take the time off because no one will cover for you. There were some great project managers there who helped me to grow.
Minpunten
It was a terrible place to start my career in construction. They did not take any time to teach project engineers proper methods unless you were assigned to a project manager who took it upon themselves to teach, which some did. However, speaking on the project managers, there was definitely a group/circle of them who were “inner circle” and favored by management, it was solely based on whether these individuals liked you or not. Many of them were extremely arrogant and egotistical and narrow minded in their methods of communication. It was a very toxic environment that felt like a high school where there were the cool kids, outcasts, and everyone else. There was gossip and talking about people behind backs amongst other extremely immature and childish behaviors. The upper management were ok but retained some very toxic people as account managers who did not foster growth and is ultimately what made me decide to leave. I didn’t have any reference to go off before, but at te company I moved to, my growth was exponential and learned more in the first 6 months there than I had at structure tone in over 2 years.
