Pluspunten
Sunrun has many talented employees who care about the work, the customers, and the teams around them. I worked with people who were committed, knowledgeable, and willing to help solve difficult problems in a fast-moving industry. The company can provide opportunities to learn solar operations, work across different departments, and gain experience in a business that has gone through a lot of change
Minpunten
After many years with the company, I can no longer recommend it as a place to work. In my experience, the culture became increasingly political, inconsistent, and stressful. Accountability did not always feel evenly applied across leadership, and employees noticed when some people appeared to receive protection or second chances while others were held to a much harsher standard for smaller mistakes. Recognition was also limited, and feedback often leaned negative, which made many employees feel discouraged and undervalued.
The constant uncertainty from reorganizations, layoffs, and changing expectations made it difficult to feel stable or confident in the company’s direction. The “solar coaster” is real, but the lack of trust and consistency made it harder to stay motivated. Communication from leadership did not always align with what employees were experiencing, and over time, this damaged morale. Sunrun still has a lot of good people, but the culture needs serious work before I could recommend it again.
