The company was once a great place to work, but recent changes in senior management have drastically altered the culture for the worse. The commercial side of the business has been severely impacted, with many talented individuals being pushed out or removed entirely. There is no clear evidence that these actions were necessary or have benefited the business. Instead, it feels like an attempt to silence those who challenge or offer ideas that don’t align with the top leadership's vision. Favouritism is increasingly apparent, with resources and opportunities going to individuals who are more concerned with self-promotion than delivering genuine business value. These favoured few haven’t demonstrated that they have the right ideas or the ability to implement initiatives that drive success. Meanwhile, talented employees with a proven track record of delivering results are being sidelined, leading to a decline in morale and, ultimately, damaging the business. There's also a significant lack of transparency, honesty, and respect from the Executive Committee. Communication often feels overly optimistic and disconnected from reality. The high rate of employee turnover is being glossed over, but those who leave share their experiences, and it's clear that there’s a deeper cultural issue at play. It’s disappointing to see the company focusing on managing the narrative rather than addressing the core problems. It’s a sad situation for what was once a great place to work.

Our intention has always been to make decisions that position the company for long-term success, and we work hard to support employees through any change. That said, we acknowledge that we may not always get it right, and your feedback highlights areas where we could improve. Fostering an environment where ideas and constructive feedback are welcomed is crucial, and our speaking-up policy and open-door leadership approach are in place to ensure every voice is heard. Regarding favouritism, we strive to ensure opportunities and resources are distributed based on merit and business needs. Recognising and advancing talent across all teams is something we continually review to ensure fairness and alignment with our goals. We have processes in place to ensure fairness and merit-based decision-making, however, we take on board that these might not always be clear in every circumstance and we’ll endeavour to improve transparency around our processes. Transparency is core to our communication efforts, and we aim to keep everyone informed through weekly updates, quarterly strategic game plans and open discussions about progress toward goals. We acknowledge concerns about employee turnover. While our attrition rate remains below the industry average, we’re committed to building a culture that retains and nurtures talent. - Growing pains are reasonably common for a company the size of Superscript. - Technical challenges are often not completely understood. - Workload expectations are ambitious in relation to headcount, especially given the complexity of systems and interdependent processes. - Can be tricky to find a free desk on busy days in the office.

I held off on posting a review while the company went through some big changes, but things still aren’t great for regular employees. Heads-up if you’re thinking about working here: - The CEO, CFO, and a co-founder all got replaced recently, which shook things up a lot. - The company’s staying alive on investor cash and has about a year to start making money. - They just laid off around 15 people in another round of cuts. - No pay raises, but they expect you to keep stepping up your game. - The new CEO’s all about business and not so much about people. If you ask questions, you might get told to just quit if you’re not happy. - Diversity’s taken a hit. More than half of the people let go were PoC, even though they’re a smaller part of the company. The execs say they care about diversity, but you wouldn’t know it looking at the team. - Morale’s super low, and people are leaving left and right. They try to be open, but get defensive when you ask stuff. - It’s a high-stress vibe, and they’ve cut most of the fun social stuff. It’s not got the startup energy or the cash and stability of a big company.
