Pluspunten
Friendly employers, they really try to make remote work still feel like a work family, very understanding if you can't finish a project because an emergency comes up or something like that (as long as you give them a reasonable amount of time to find a different transcriptionist to finish your project!) I haven't worked for SyncScript since my youngest was born, because I just didn't have the time with three little ones, but I still have very fond memories of working for this company as an independent contractor. They would send weekly emails with good news from other transcriptionists (and they shared my news of my son's birth), and they even had a March Madness pool! I wasn't able to make this a full-time job to support my family, but it was nice extra money with a wonderful work atmosphere.
Minpunten
Sometimes the audio files are extremely hard to understand because of a strong accent. It takes twice as long to complete but you get compensated a flat rate for audio minutes, no matter how long the transcribing takes. The pay isn't great, but it is higher than the "going-rate" for transcription jobs, and you actually know the names of the people running the business (it isn't a big, greedy company!)
