Minpunten
Wind the clock back to 2001, when you still faxed stuff and Monica and Chandler got married. That's the culture here. If you're cool with that, this is a great place to work. If you're not then... -Masculine corporate values and policies. Women most often take the "housekeeping" roles of the company: taking notes, cleaning up, catering, food distribution, scheduling meetings, printing documents, etc. -No resources/budget support for social media either for communication with employees or marketing -Forget working from home -Traditional, siloed, hierarchical culture -Caucasian- Christian- centered corporate events mostly around Christmastime -Tactical, execution focused instead of strategic and value-driven -Years of service recognized and rewarded (for good reason), but very little achievement-based recognition for individuals or teams -Unclear criteria for bonuses or evaluations -Because of a security "issue" Gmail (and all other email clients or cloud clients) are blocked -Networking outside of your org is not supported or encouraged -A gate was built around building 8 to keep out LinkedIn employees, but they let us walk in their parking lot to get to other Synopsys buildings. General philosophies: You talk to your boss, who talks to my boss, who talks with me. It's the way we've always done it, why would we change? The lunch hour lasts exactly 60 minutes. Don't take personal calls on "company time". Butts in seats! Don't leave your dishes in the sink your mom or maid don't work here! I don't know why or how this task is valuable. Someone just asked me to do it. So I did it.
