I hope my review is seen by the current SystemC management team, this message isn’t an attack, but a plea for reflection on your current thinking. I was a SystemC employee for over 10 years and loved the company I worked for. SystemC was perfect for me as I had worked in front line healthcare for over 20 years but the shifts and late nights had taken a toll on me, but I still wanted to service the NHS, the organisation that gave me the ultimate job satisfaction feeling, when working in the NHS I was helping my patients get better or helping people get through some of the most painful moments of their lives. The SystemC product set was in my view the best on the market, developed by people like me, who loved seeing people get better by having the right clinical information about their patients at our fingertips. Most of the deployment and design teams were made up of ex NHS professionals who understood current NHS teams and the challenges they faced on a daily basis on top of trying to change embedded NHS processes. We had great leadership in Marcus and Ian who spoke so passionately about how they wanted to improve patient outcomes and would at any opportunity listen to customers and develop products from their experiences. The company grew, it wasn’t always perfect but we had a great company ethos and when we did have problems we talked to our customers who on the most part worked with us to resolve product issues and helped us grow as a company. I still have friends that I initially met from being their SystemC deployment representative, not always an easy relationship but we had a common goal and would work through any work related issues. In the last 18 months since the company was sold to a private equity company its been a completely different story. After the redundancies a high proportion of the staff have left, this is due to the new managements total lack of understanding of the business, their customers and the complete disrespect towards their employees . The management team don’t seem to understand the industry they are serving, you aren’t selling cars or high end watches, the System C products saves live’s, read some of the case studies that the NHS themselves have written about SystemC products. Try and get to know the people you have left and take a good hard look in the mirror. You can’t treat people so badly that you make them feel worthless and leave, the business will fail and you will have directly impacted NHS and private patient care. Yes, SystemC has to be profitable, but profit is built on keeping the customers you have and building new opportunities. If your intention is it just asset strip please, please find another company. I’m now back working in the NHS and using SystemC products on the front line I hope if I ever needed to treat you or one of your family members I would have the latest clinical information to hand to give you the best outcome. Without good, experienced people within SystemC that drive digital development and quality I don’t know if I will. I wish you all only the best SystemC but I do hope the management team at SystemC take a moment to reflect on what their intentions are and how your business strategy is impacting people around you and the business you manage.
