      There are many: - CEO loves a hostile environment. He is very rude, abrasive, condensending and verbally abusive. He thrives on being all this to one person with an audience during a team or company call. - CEO threatens jobs and taking money out of people's paychecks every week. - CEO uses fear tactics as "motivation." He is not open to ideas. Many times he has said "I am the CEO, this is my company and we will do it my way." - CEO cannot decide his role - CEO, CMO or Sales. He has sales guys. Why does he need to do sales instead of focusing on running a company with 60+ contractors? - There is no HR. Closest thing to an HR department is his wife.

      The CEO frequently yells at employees for no reason and threatens to fire the team. You'll be asked to share, like, and comment on both clients' and the company's posts, which feels invasive and unprofessional. Sometimes, they even follow up and ask for proof that you've shared them. As an independent contractor, you receive no benefits—even if you're based in the US. You're required to work using your own tools, with no reimbursement from the company. Regarding the "Great Place to Work" award, we were practically forced to vote for it so the company could win—which is unethical. The CEO insists we speak in meetings even when there's nothing to say, yet every time someone does, they get yelled at or dismissed with an eye roll. No opportunities for career growth. Leadership roles for women are just an illusion—while we may get the positions, the salary IS NOT equal to that of men or employees in other countries.
