Minpunten
*Title:** I joined Ten10 in 2024, lured in by the promises made during the recruitment process and on their website. The first 8 weeks of training were excellent. The trainers were knowledgeable, supportive, and approachable, and I made some great friends in my academy. However, beyond this initial phase, the entire experience was an absolute disaster and a complete waste of time. Ten10 creates the impression that you’ll have a say in the area of IT you specialise in and that your preferences will be considered. This is a lie. After finishing the academy, I spent the next 7 months on the "bench" waiting for client roles to materialise. I was repeatedly offered basic service desk positions—jobs that were not only misaligned with my training but were also never advertised on their website or mentioned during recruitment. My stated preference for roles in business analysis or project management was completely ignored. In my entire 9 months at Ten10, I was given only *one* interview. I didn’t get the role, and no meaningful feedback was provided to help me improve or secure future opportunities. Meanwhile, I watched other trainees being offered interviews with no explanation as to why I wasn’t being considered. The process felt arbitrary, unprofessional, and deeply unfair. When roles were offered, it felt like the sales team was forcing unsuitable positions on me. I also know colleagues who reluctantly accepted roles that didn’t align with their skills or career goals out of fear they wouldn’t be offered anything else. This manipulative approach to placing trainees is disgraceful and shows a complete lack of regard for employees’ development and wellbeing. While on the bench, trainees are encouraged to upskill by taking Udemy courses or pursuing qualifications funded by Ten10. However, this felt pointless since upskilling had no bearing on the roles offered. I know someone who earned a foundation-level business analysis qualification, only to be placed in a service desk role because they had been waiting for 10 months. The communication during the bench period was non-existent. Weeks would pass without any updates or job opportunities. The wellbeing team occasionally reached out, but they had no control over placements and couldn’t resolve the core issues. The truth is that Ten10 has hired far too many trainees without securing enough roles to place them. This leaves talented, skilled individuals in limbo, waiting indefinitely and feeling undervalued. The financial situation was outright insulting. Trainees are paid a pitiful £400 per month while on the bench. This is unsustainable and puts immense financial strain on employees. I had to burn through all my savings just to stay afloat, eventually resorting to borrowing money and taking on a side job doing Amazon deliveries to cover basic expenses. This financial stress is unacceptable and completely avoidable if Ten10 properly managed its hiring and placement process. Although security clearance delays aren’t entirely Ten10’s fault, the company does nothing to mitigate the impact on its trainees. One colleague waited 9 months for clearance with no progress and no alternative roles offered—a shocking failure on Ten10’s part. Beyond the initial training, my time at Ten10 was a nightmare. The company is disorganised, exploitative, and blatantly dishonest about the opportunities they claim to provide. I feel like I’ve wasted most of 2024 for nothing, surviving on £400 a month and with no meaningful career progression to show for it. I would strongly advise anyone considering Ten10 to stay far away. Unless you have absolutely no other options, this company is not worth your time or energy. Even if you do join, make sure to actively search for better opportunities elsewhere because Ten10 certainly won’t prioritise your career
