Minpunten
I contributed many years of high-impact work at Ticketmaster within Live Nation. I consistently delivered complex, visible programs and received strong feedback throughout my tenure. I believed performance and commitment mattered here. The layoff process made it clear that they did not. There was no meaningful acknowledgment of my contributions, no thoughtful conversation, and no effort to recognize the value I had delivered. The decision itself may have been a business one. The way it was handled felt dismissive and impersonal. What was most difficult to reconcile was the inconsistency. Employees with significantly less tenure were offered more generous severance packages and accommodations. After years of strong performance, I was offered less than individuals who had been at the company under a year. There was no transparency around how those decisions were made. It is hard not to interpret that as arbitrary at best and disrespectful at worst. The company speaks often about culture and people-first values. In practice, during workforce reductions, employees can become line items. Loyalty and performance do not guarantee equitable treatment.
