Pluspunten

Generally the people are still lovely, this is generally a bi-product of living in Brighton, but there was at one stage a concerted effort to hire the best people to fit in with the culture. Most of these people unfortunately disappeared overnight from their positions without any word or have decided to leave but some still remain. There is usually an annual company trip, however this is generally held over your head for the next year as a reason to be worked to the bone.

Minpunten

Workloads are generally ridiculous across the board. I have seen people who really loved the company and held their values pushed to the limit stress and workload wise, constantly requesting extra support who have subsequently left and replaced with multiple members of staff on extra money. There is real limited room for growth. Senior hires will always be more attractive to this company. Promotions will also be given with delayed pay rises due to supposedly only doing pay increases in April... Pay is well under market rates, the only way you will secure a good salary is to negotiate on the way in, otherwise it is very hard once you are in. Toxic culture from the CEO is unfortunately very bad. This is fed down to Senior management, who have created an air of fear which wasn't apparent before. The CEO is quite happy to boast about firing people overnight, this has been a recurring issue of behaviour.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are sorry to hear that your experience has led to such significant feelings, and a perceived negative shift in culture. Our goal is to create a supportive, high-performing environment as we continue to scale. The Tillo you describe is not one we recognise. While we're disappointed to hear about your negative experiences, we want to assure you that company culture and employee well-being will always be priorities for us. We acknowledge that as we grow the company will change and evolve, but that is the nature of a scaling company. We have worked really hard to put in place some great positive processes to ensure we are listening and taking feedback to ensure those principles remain. We recognise the challenges with workload but want to assure you that our goal is to maintain productivity while supporting a healthy work-life balance. With our feedback & recognition loops, I hope you feel like you can voice your concerns and suggestions to your line manager so that a suitable solution can be found. We value every Tillian’s contribution to our success and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to grow. If you'd like to discuss your concerns further please reach out to our People team or your manager. Hanna Smith, Chief People Officer

Truly the best company I’ve ever worked for and I’d go back in a heartbeat if it wasn’t required to live in Austin.

Minpunten

No increase in pay over two years

Thank you for your fantastic 5-star review! We're delighted to hear Tillo was "truly the best company" you've worked for and that you'd return if not for the Austin location. Your positive feedback on our culture, leadership, and outlook is greatly appreciated. We noted your comment about the lack of pay increase over two years. While we aim for competitive compensation, our review processes have since evolved to include more frequent performance reviews linked to salary progression. Thank you again for your contributions. We wish you all the best and hope you'll consider us again in the future. Hanna Smith, Chief People Officer

Pluspunten

Benefits package. People. Location. Initial onboarding and training is adequate. High performing business.

Minpunten

No career growth for entry level staff: Despite promises of growth opportunities, there is minimal support for career advancement. Employees are often left at the mercy of their line manager and the best excuse is "promotions only happen in april and october", but promotions for senior staff somehow happen randomly during the year. Entry level staff are left to rot for years unless someone senior advocates for them - they hire externally while exploiting talent that is right infront of them and then wonder why employees are ready to leave. Unreasonable Workload. Many employees struggle with overwhelming workloads. There seems to be an expectation to consistently meet tight deadlines without adequate resources or compensation/reward, which leads to burnout and high turnover and resentment amongst a LOT of the core teams. Inadequate Communication: There is a significant communication breakdown between departments, resulting in confusion and inefficiencies. Important information often doesn’t trickle down to the teams, creating frustration and misalignment. HR is only there to protect the managers, if you are thinking of starting off at entry level here, DONT. Salary: Several roles have been retitled while workload remains high. Tillo think they are smart by doing this because if salaries are questioned, they look at the average salary of these new titles and say that its in line with the average. The manipulation does not end here, it is a continuous theme in the company.

Thank you for sharing your candid feedback with us. We genuinely appreciate your willingness to voice your concerns, as this helps us identify areas where we can improve. While we're disappointed to hear about your negative experiences, we want to assure you that career development and employee well-being are priorities for us. We acknowledge that there may be gaps between our intentions and how some of our practices are being experienced, but that is the nature of a scaling company. We have worked really hard to put in place some great positive processes over recent months and it’s still relatively new. Regarding career progression, we are actively working to create more transparent promotion pathways and development opportunities for all staff, especially at entry-level positions. We recognize the challenges with workload but want to assure you that our goal is to maintain productivity while supporting work-life balance. With our new feedback & recognition loops, I hope you feel like you can voice your concerns and suggestions to your line manager. On compensation, we have just published our new (and first ever) compensation philosophy to give clarity and transparency in our total reward decisions. We value every Tillian’s contribution to our success and are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels respected, supported, and able to grow. The Tillo you describe is not one that is reflected in our most recent employee survey. If you'd like to discuss your concerns further or share additional thoughts on how we can improve, please reach out to our People team or leadership - we're here to listen.
