Amazing company culture. Superior engagement from senior leadership team. You truly can go straight to the top with any question. Decent job for someone just starting their career and is willing to dedicate 24/7 to their cause.
Minpunten
Absolutely zero work life balance. You are expected to be available 24/7. Not only from coworkers and management but also from dealers that text at all hours as well. Very low pay for the work expected and time expected. They use Slack for communications and everyday there are hundreds of messages sent at all hours. Usually, upper management sends messages as late as 11:00pm on weekends saying “we need to have a huge push this weekend to get to xx number of cars sold. We need all hands on deck to push hard” This is said multiple times a day by multiple members of upper management. It starts to become a little like the “boy who cried wolf” story. It loses its emphasis after you’ve heard it for the 100th time. During meetings they’ll explain that you have to book personal time off to go get a haircut or run an errand and then in the same breath tell you that you need to be available all day Monday to Friday (6:00am to 11:00pm), Saturday is the biggest selling day and all hands need to be on deck. You need to have your laptop with you as well to “work the deals” so it’s not very conducive to having any sort of a family life or personal life. It literally is expected that you are available at all hours, everyday. I would work from 6:00am to 11:00pm virtually everyday. 6:00pm to 11:00pm in the evenings is some of the busiest times for trying to get deals out together on cars. Putting in long hours and pushing to make a company great is ok but the pay needs to represent the work effort. $60,000/year and $4.00 per car sold is no where near sufficient pay for the hours expected. The only way to make any real money with this company is to be a sales rep in Toronto, Vancouver or possibly a couple other major centers. If you are located outside of these centers it’s a very tough gig due to added transportation and logistic costs for buyers that major center dealers don’t have. You will likely make very little commission in comparison to the big city reps.
