Pluspunten
Half-decent pay compared to some other opportunities, good benefits, robust protocols, super nice people for the most part. A lot of operational independence for EMTs and medics.
Minpunten
Education department can be inconsistent, most FTOs are great but some are terrible, I got a terrible one toward the end of my FTO period. Nuance flies over management's head, they make rules arbitrary rules not related to patient care, and they are inconsistent in enforcing them. Diversity is atrocious, though I don't necessarily think that's their fault, at least not completely, given the demographics of northern Colorado. There can be some tone-deaf or insensitive communications from management or EMTs/paramedics if you're a member of a minority community (BIPOC, LGBTQ+), hours are terrible (12 is fine, 13.5 not so much), inflexible hierarchy.
