This organization is outdated and lags behind in innovation. Salaries for many administrative positions do not align with industry standards, and remote work opportunities are minimal. There is a significant disconnect between management and employees. While managers and individuals in higher roles earn a large, significant amount, union employees receive only small annual pay increases and are confined to predetermined pay ranges that are intentionally lower. Meanwhile, management—many of whom contribute little—continues to be well compensated. Additionally, management has a habit of taking employees’ ideas and running with them without giving proper credit. If you’re in the union, your degree, certifications, and additional qualifications will do little to advance your career. The best reason to take a job here is to gain free education and experience—then leave at the first opportunity. Staying long-term offers little growth, especially when there are far better opportunities outside this health system.
