Minpunten
In order to get a job here you either have to have been a peace corps volunteer or you have to worked as a contractor for the agency. They look to hire new staff but usually hire from within. I do not think the hiring practices are fair to the general public and would not recommend applying unless you are a recently returned peace corps volunteer during a time when they are looking for program analyst. Retention of quality staff members is not a priority. Many people have left in recent years because there was no strategy to keep quality staff members. There seems to be an attitude that the management does not really care about the lower level staff. The current president only focuses on the "big fish". This will ultimately harm the organization and cause more turn over. Another con - it is encouraged to work long hours. Many staff members are at the office 12 hours a day and look down on those who leave after 8 working hours.
