Amazing team, collaborative environment, great experience

Cyclical season, lack of upper mobility

The people were great. I left three years ago but am still good friends and remain in contact with dozens of former employees, even some who have been gone a long time now. All my bosses were great and always felt more like peers. Could talk to them like a normal person and hang out socially. If you work a lot of championships, you will build strong bonds over the shared experience of thriving in that stressful environment. Not everyone's experience is the same, but there are dozens of people there I would throw down for. You're allowed to be an individual without constantly censoring yourself. I still harbor hope of returning one day.

Most positions will require travel and long hours during the summer. If you're not into that, it might be a rough experience. I loved that, but understand it may take a physical and mental toll. It's not a big place, so advancement opportunities can be difficult. I ultimately felt I had to look outside to advance because it seems everyone was so content working there that the internal churn was almost non-existent. At one point, I was there eight years and still the second-most junior staffer on my team. I think senior management can sometimes be too interested in hiring from the outside than rewarding their own. But that's not universal. Senior management does also change a lot and priorities change often. Diversity is also an issue. They do try and address it. I think the reputation of golf makes it hard.
