Minpunten
As someone who briefly worked at VARC—like most developers there, aside from two—I wanted to share my experience since I’ve only seen one other review from a developer. Developers are significantly underpaid compared to the market rate for Quickbase developers. The company is very small, leaving no room for promotions, especially for developers. They have no interest in your long-term career growth and instead focus on keeping you there while underpaying you. The work is highly repetitive, and the team provides little to no training or training resources. PTO is extremely limited, and work-life balance is nonexistent. While some claim the company is accommodating, they have offered incentives for leaving positive reviews, which is misleading. There is no parental leave. I witnessed a coworker return to the office the day after his wife gave birth—being allowed to come in at 9 or 10 AM was considered "accommodating" by HR. A quick look at their LinkedIn will show that most developers leave within a year due to the unfair treatment. The one "positive" developer review wasn’t even from a developer but rather a project manager. Remote work is not allowed, even though the nature of the job could easily support it. Instead, micromanagement takes priority.
