I always had the mindset that I had to figure it out alone before I got to VARC. Now I constantly hear "Let's talk about it as a team" "How can WE solve this problem". Mistakes happen, but everyone is there to support you. Now, I hardly go a day without talking to my coworkers about different problems/situations. As long as you have a spark of optimism, this job is fun. There will always be days where negativity/stress gets the best of you, that's inevitable. But we're not a "strictly business" team. We enjoy keeping things lighthearted and not weight too heavily on the bad stuff. I look forward to coming to work. We're a growing company, and there's job security. Pretty rough vacation/sick time until you've been here for at least 3 years...especially harder if you're used to bigger PTO packages No flexibility for remote work - if you're going to need any, or frequent, days to work off-site, you have to make a good case for it or it's always a no. Small office/Team - if you aren't comfortable working for a small business, this may not be the right fit for you. It's a much different environment compared to corporatized business, and collaboration is a must. A lot of processes to learn with a lot of layers. You should be comfortable using new software, and it could easily take you 3+ months to get the hang of things. But you don't have to be perfect, everyone is willing to teach & train. You will not thrive if you don't ask questions. Like with some jobs, if you show up just to get a list of tasks done and then leave for the day, you likely won't do well. With this job, it's strictly 8:30 - 5 and you need to be willing and open to learning new things every day.
