Specific Department Related: 1. Our team was incredibly close! Some of us were like family outside of work! 2. We were hybrid but when we were in the office there were always mass office lunches/parties 3. There were lots of opportunities to socialize with other departments as Happy Hours happened a lot

Department Specific: 1. There weren't steps in place for anyone in my position to move up, you either needed to move to a different department or find a different company 2. One on ones with the manager I had were more social than they were developmental - I wanted to be challenged on how to be better, to eventually move up 3. The pay for our role is a lot lower than at other SAAS companies

To address your 'cons' of working at Vector Solutions, a Growth Pathways program was launched in March 2023 which clearly outlines what needs to be in place for career growth to happen in all parts of the organization. Vector Solutions supports the growth and development of our most important asset, our team. Growth Pathways provides a framework where opportunities to learn skills to make employees better at their current jobs and learning new skills that may help employees move into new roles. Additionally, it provides a process where all our open positions are posted internally to give employees an opportunity to move into new growth roles and promote from within when the business need and opportunity presents itself. It also provides a model to help employees own their career and development and provides tools and resources for managers and employees to have effective career development conversations throughout the year.

It's a job and some of the people are great, remote/hybrid work for some employees

There is literally zero incentive to work hard or even try above the bare minimum. No real career paths or progression, no bonuses, nothing. Individual goals mean nothing and do not connect to larger company goals. Leadership is feckless and has to revisit the same decision constantly or has to make a decision involving way more people than necessary which means the final decision is bloated and difficult to operationalize. The company goals are not clear at all so work priorities constantly shift to whatever leadership has most recently decided, through a committee, is most important. There is basically nothing in terms of company culture. People don't talk to each other about anything. There is no fun in Teams channels. This probably stems from all of the above, that people do not feel at all connected to the company because they know they are not going to get anything out of it. Oh, and the benefits are abysmal.

We also understand the concern around shifting priorities. Like many companies, Vector operates in an ever-changing economic landscape. As market needs evolve, we have to evaluate and adjust priorities to keep the business growing, serve our customers well, and support the team members who drive our success. We will not dismiss feedback simply because it is difficult to read. We have meaningful work, a strong team, and a lot to be proud of, but we also have work to do. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to make Vector a better place to build a career.
