With their partnerships there are a number of perks when it comes to discounts and free snacks. They will pay more than most other companies (for a reason...)
Minpunten
- Lack of support from management, executive team, and HR. - With it being an At-Will state, they take advantage of it and remove people from positions at a whim, but they don't create a gameplan to cover the pending work and processes that the person knew and didn't create plans to gain understanding. It makes sense why they have had to settle several lawsuits against them for wrongful termination. - As we all know HR is for the company and not the employees which is fine, but when they are informed of illegal activities done by management and decide that they will fire the whistleblower and not actually resolve the situation. - Recognition and appreciation is not apart of the Vistar way. As a new employee what are you going to think when an employee who has been working for the company for 25 years retires, and the "party" that is thrown is just a kirkland cake that is the CFO's favorite flavor and not yours, a $10 bottle of wine, and an emotionless speech is made? - Finding out you were going to be fired because you seen your position listed on Indeed and their internal site before they even made it seem like your job wasn't safe? Having to hear that from several employees is sad. The great thing is every single one of them that have been handled that way have had a nice settlement paid out to them. - There are no SOP, training videos, or individuals that know the finer parts of each process as they have not managed the transfer of knowledge correctly in all of their turnover events. You need get up a creek with out a paddle... or boat... and you can't swim. - Time off requests are at the mercy of your manager and when you have a manager that is not fond of certain types of people its difficult to have them approved unless you involve HR, but doing that is just making the target on your back larger. - Don't expect any company wide events, department wide event, or team wide events. The moral is so low that any time anyone seems to be having a good time, you will have someone go to management and complain. The list goes on and on but you get the idea.
