Pluspunten
Overtime pay, loyalty pay, tenure premium, shift allowance which is still not standardised, even after 20+ years of presence and business operations! And not to miss the overly praised medical benefits cover (hospitalisation benefit, ONLY ON PAPER)
Minpunten
A company where you'll be promised so much during interviews but be given the exact opposite / primitive ways of working is Visual Graphics Computing Services (VGCS) "alias" McKinsey Business Presentation Design Services (MBPDS) and now rechristened as McKinsey Global Services (MGS). God knows how many more fancy names to come! Can't it just be McKinsey & Company? Don't be surprised if you notice McKinsey & Company on their letterhead with a footer indicating MBPDS and your payslip highlighting VGCS. AMBIGUITY is not only on paper but in the entire NEURAL CEREBRUM of this organisation. No wonder they have a spineless leadership in India and overseas, who can't even put their foot down in recommending a common firm name! A WHOLLY OWNED SUBSIDIARY of a market leading management consulting firm, which provided strategic consultation to one of the leading nationalised bank in India to be unified as ONE, can't decide to have ONE NAME for the entire firm. Rather, proudly propagate ONE FIRM, ONE McKinsey. Individuals who wish to progress in their career, in whichever career path that you like to, THIS IS CERTAINLY NOT a place to do so! VGCS.. oops! MGS is a place where you lose your identity, individuality, expertise, experience, exposure, enthusiasm and most importantly ENERGY! A career stagnation was identified 5 years ago and the leadership was discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, discussing, deliberating, for 5 years and by now, they have arrived at implementing a career progression plan. Central & State governments have changed more rapidly than the DECISION MAKING SPEED of MGS leadership!Mind you, the decision isn't made yet. Funny, right!? When questioned on anything, first words uttered by the senior most LEADER is "I Don't Know" followed by an unconvincing explanation. Which leader says "I Don't Know" while starting a speech or answering a question or even during a discussion? If you're willing to praise your Team Leaders, Supervisors (who calls them as Supervisors these days, BTW), Managers, Senior Managers and NOD ALONG with them (goes without saying) then yes, you'll be promoted to the next level and end up doing the same PPT / excel jobs. None of them are equipped enough or profoundly skilled in competency to be in the positions that they are currently in! You'll be promised that you'll be given opportunity to work in the most advanced and sophisticated software's, while being hired for Business Presentation Designers. Don't be surprised if you land up in doing PPT using MS Office. That's the most sophisticated software which you'll ever use, being in MGS. HR Team struggles day in day out with the most useless ever HRMS tool, which can do NOTHING. HR leadership can't even decide on a simple user-friendly HRMS tool. How would they even contribute to the betterment of an organisation? HR leaders spend most of their time in coffee shop chats with female Supervisor/s, to rejuvenate from the exhausting listening that they experience in BASELESS MEETINGS with business leadership. BTW, the coffee shop chats is quite common with other leaders & service lines too! For a company which is just doing PPT, so many service lines aren't required at the first place. But Yeah! They do have so many! Some of my female colleagues went through the exit interview but I wasn't called for one, by the HR team. I wonder why! Diversity & Inclusion is a VALUE just on paper, I guess! A whole bunch of Recruitment team (more than 10 of them) is tirelessly working to achieve a hiring target of not more than 180 a year, which percolates to 18 hires per person, which is 1.5 hire per month. I'm sure they are super excessively paid than what they deserve. All these are over camouflaged by the snacks, refreshments, unlimited beer in annual party, cab services, year end bonus and exorbitant overtime pay, for which, people end up staying put in MGS, without estimating their full potential. I'm absolutely glad that I decided to quit MGS and move out to a better opportunity. Wake up and Move out - My personal recommendation.
