Pluspunten

If you dont mind working weekends, non traditional hours, and MUST work on Holidays, then Walgreens is a good place to start. They hire MGT(assistant Managers) right out of college, with little to no experience needed, First month or so, you will be setting in front of computer screens learning the ins and out of the retail business. As with corporate America you do have the opportunity to advance, but you must put in the hard work. Depending on which store you locate in (fast paced vs slow paced store) The job dutties could vary. they offer great benefits. is what you expect of a fortune 500 company, with profit sharing (first 2% is matched after 1 year, 10 vacation days(after 1 year) sick days, and special days

Minpunten

IF you work in a fast paced store, it could become stressful, anything from dealing with customer complaints, too many notes from the manager, or even robbery. Seniority seems to play a big roll in the company you sometime feel you have to wait your turn before you get promoted to EXA (executive store manager) where you are placed on salary and get percentage of the bonus You do have to work Holidays, and because of the recession they have eliminated overtime, As MGT we are not allowed to go over 40 hrs

Pluspunten

Gave me decent pay. Bought us little gifts and food at holidays.

Minpunten

Gave away one of my paychecks to another employee and refused to reimburse me because of issues with "their bank." My RxM created a hostile work environment showing clear favoritism for employees. Eventually, HR got involved, and I was no longer scheduled with him. I did not ask for this change, and actively resented it, because now I had fewer hours, meaning less pay on top of the $500 corporate had already stolen from me. They had no interest in training me or anyone else to become certified as promised. Over and over again, they hired people, ran out the time on their licenses, and let techs choose between paying to get certified elsewhere, or losing their jobs. The only thing Walgreens was passionate about was convincing patients that they couldn't even provide their regular medications to get vaccines. Often unneeded. The "patient care" calls are blatant and illegal marketing for vaccines, since Walgreens makes it next to impossible for a patient to opt out of it. I would NEVER get my medications here after seeing how poorly everything is managed, how unethical company policies and patient health were regarded, and how mistreated the staff were.
