Pluspunten

-Can be a simple clock in, do the work, clock out job if you get the right assignments and overseer. -Insurance coverage is quite good

- Really unpleasant environment for any neurodivergent or otherwise sound sensitive people. About 60 employees sit in a room together that is set up similarly to a classroom (everyone sits next to each other facing the same way). All conversations, meetings, phone calls, chewing, sniffling, whistling, etc. can be heard in all directions. -Tech is slow and can be frustrating to use -HR constantly emails reminding people about expected hours, lunch practices, dress code, etc. -Management for engineering is overbearing and tends to impede progress instead of enhance it (for engineering, design management seems to be fine) -No room for growth. There is essentially just one position available, do not expect promotions or raises. -Vacation time and sick leave is on the stingy side. 5 state mandated sick days available, require Drs note to use. Vacation starts at 1-2 weeks/year for new hires, does not automatically increase on a schedule (have not tried requesting an increase)

Waltonen promotes a collaborative environment with no cubicles or walls. This is done to promote communication between the Engineers and Designers. There are approximately 40 or so employees in the room - not 60. But on any particular day there might be 20 to 30 in the room because of the work from home schedules. Employees have the ability to wear headphones if they so choose. Waltonen maintains state of the art equipment including desktops/laptops, oversize monitors and space balls. Reminder emails on policies are an effort to provide clear communication. The Engineering Manager is very laid back with a collaborative work style - definitely not overbearing. There are various levels of Engineering responsibilities - definitely room for growth. The work is defense and most every Engineer that we have hired has come from Automotive with Waltonen training them on defense. Engineers are salaried employees that technically are not eligible for the state mandated sick days but Waltonen extended that benefit to those employees even though it was not a required. Waltonen does have a vacation schedule that increases along with seniority. This "employee" does not seem to really know Waltonen. The real question is why the "employee" did not bring up their issues with their Manager or HR for a discussion on how to resolve the issues instead of putting out an online complaint.

Waltonen is a great place to work. Our team is diverse and has strengths in various areas allowing us to satisfy and maintain strong relationships with our customers. We have team members of all experience levels, from entry-level to senior employees. The environment is friendly and I enjoy coming to work. Overall, it is a great place to work no matter where you are in your career! The company is fair and really cares about the well-being of its employees. Recognition is not a given nowadays, so it is great to feel that our work here is appreciated!

Very diverse work culture with people from different backgrounds. Overall it is a stable place to work. If you do a good job, they will allow you to advance and work on other projects/opportunities. Flexible with health appointments and other outside activities. Good benefits package compared to others in the industry. Diversified business portfolio. They do company events that make us feel appreciated, such as gift cards around birthdays, holidays, luncheons, monthly raffles, etc. Everyone is friendly and enjoys working together. Can work from home when possible, depending on the customer you are working for.

Minpunten

Your workload and schedule heavily depend on the customer due to the nature of the service business. Hours can fluctuate and be long during peak times, depending on the group you’re in. No surprise as this was covered during initial interviews. You do get compensated for the overtime and can make a lot of money.
