Pluspunten
Working with children is beautiful work, and the hourly pay for EA's is good (although probably should be higher)
Minpunten
* can be hard to full-time hours or permanency * instead of asking for references, they will ask for your most recent supervisor/ principal at the last school you were at (with the option to give additional references). This gives principals in the school board significant power over your career trajectory and some principals would speak fairly about you while others may make it significantly harder to get your next job. * key decisions about working with youth you work with may be made without you and you will at one point or another be asked to do some things you don't agree with * Key information about young people you work with (ie. info about their home lives or notes from specialists) may at times not be shared with you Note however that the amount you may experience of all these cons varies significantly from school to school
