Pluspunten
I work in the assessments department and really enjoy it. I have a great manager and director and feel supported in my role. I am encouraged to grow my skills by taking employer paid courses. We have amazing benefits (extended health, vacation.)
Minpunten
WorkSafeBC is unionized, and while the union does some good for us for sure (we have amazing benefits) it is hard to get rid of workers who are not contributing. There is no real reward for doing a good job, which is frustrating. The worst employees are treated and rewarded the same, overall, as the best. I think they pay could be better matched to the private sector. I have also worked in claims (shortly) and would not return, the workload is hard to manage and lots of OT is required. The work/life balance is not good.
