Absolutey dire administration. It has taken me extra YEARS to complete my program because the admin has not been able to resolve bureaucratic issues that they originated. Website links are all broken. Critical degree information is non existant. For instance, I took a seminar on applying to SSHRC, followed the procedures, recieved the grant, and then York refused to issue it because they messed up the processing. It took several months of appeals to resolve. Every step of the process has been like this. the Faculty of Grasduate Studies is almost unreachable. They are not available by phone, do not answer emails, and are not physically present in office. I can't imagine what it is like navigating this mess for someone who has a complex situation or needs any accomodiations, as my experience of doing it by-the-book has already been nearly impossible.
