Pluspunten

bread & Butter is an exceptional agency! The culture is outstanding, with a variety of talented employees covering public relations, digital, creative, social media, and more. From first day onboarding, to informative trainings on agency procedures, and helpful agency-wide brainstorms, bread & Butter takes the extra steps to ensure employees are set up for success! There are endless opportunities to raise your hand for projects, including new business opportunities, client meetings, and creative partnerships/events. The culture is collaborative with many offices across the U.S. and great benefits including paid time off, birthday celebrations, Wine Wednesdays, and more.

Minpunten

With many offices in various cities, it can be difficult at times to get to know other employees. However, bread & Butter does a great job allowing employees to work from other b&B offices should you be in the area for business/leisure travel!

Pluspunten

b&B is a great place to challenge yourself and grow your skills in every sense of the word. I have learned so much about time management, teamwork, leading with a human-first approach, and finding community in your local office.

Minpunten

While the workload can ebb and flow, you have to be a hard worker and enjoy the hustle to do well here.

Pluspunten

Opportunities to work in key PR markets, meet creative professionals such as chefs and entrepreneurs, assist with brand storytelling, and occasionally travel for client work.

Minpunten

During my time at Bread & Butter, I experienced internal bullying and an exclusionary “mean girl” dynamic that I had never encountered in any workplace before. The issue came to a head when a private email exchange between a senior Account Director and the CEO was accidentally sent to the entire company. The message included unprofessional and derogatory remarks about current employees—their appearance, clothing, and overall presence in the office. Yes, leaders are human and entitled to private conversations. However, this incident wasn’t an isolated moment of poor judgment. A close friend who also worked at the company witnessed a similar situation in a different office, and she was ultimately terminated. This leads me to believe that this kind of mean-spirited, petty, and belittling behavior is part of a broader cultural pattern within the organization. For young, aspiring PR professionals, it’s worth knowing that many agencies in the industry produce amazing work without engaging in this type of behavior. If possible, I’d recommend seeking opportunities at agencies that prioritize respect, mentorship, and psychological safety.
