Pluspunten
This was my first office/day job, and I'm glad because I learned a lot under the mentorship of the CEO. I was on the software engineering team, but learned a lot of well-rounded things like business concepts and soft skills that related to improving the products and DevOps. Benefits are decent/average including Health Insurance, PTO, and Simple IRA. They helped me attend graduate school with a flexible PTO situation which was nice, company culture is very strong and a company breakfast is provided every Friday. Environment is laid-back and very friendly, open to new ideas and management listens to your input very well. The city of Chardon is very pleasant as well. You definitely feel like an important part of the team and there is very little micromanagement. The company always seems to be growing and improving the products.
You are expected to take ownership of your role in the company and more-or-less perform as you see fit. It's good
opportunity for taking leadership roles. However, if you are either inexperienced (young) or you need structure, then you can feel set up to fail this way, so being very communicative in the company is important.
Minpunten
There are no performance reviews or pay raises. Responsibilities and expectations will still be increased over time, however, so some degree of skill advancement, something to keep in mind for the long-term.
