I worked full-time at eNotes in several editorial positions over a span of two years (starting as an intern!), and I truly enjoyed my time there. I've had quite a few editorial jobs, and it took me years to find one as good as this. The editorial team is tight-knit, organized, passionate about literature, and dedicated to creating and editing comprehensive, helpful, and error-free Q&As and study guides that do justice to the works of literature under discussion. To me, that exemplifies my experience at eNotes--that everyone truly cares and is excited about helping students access and understand the books (and poems, stories, plays, etc.!) they love. The benefits at eNotes were also amazing. My salary was competitive and took my education and previous experience into account, insurance premiums and transit passes were completely covered, 401(k) and charity contributions were matched, and the office does hour-long lunch breaks and half-day Fridays. I really felt appreciated for my efforts, both within and outside of the editorial team, but I also felt appreciated as a person, and able to *be* a person with a life outside of work and a good balance between work and life. If I hadn't had to move away due to personal circumstances, I would have been happy to stay with eNotes for a long time.

It's a small company, so there isn't but so much room to advance after a certain point.
