The new CEO (Alastair Thomson, joined Feb 2025) has implemented an anti-people culture. He did the same at Generator Hostels, which has similarly awful reviews. This is a strategy and is not a temporary thing. Communication terrible, emails and meetings are discouraged, leading to silo working, blame and every minor detail going past the the CEO. Nobody is empowered to do anything and it is a culture of fear. Rigid policies, enforced harshly through formal disciplinaries and surveillance. They will probably go to full time office working. There are not enough desks though, and the environment is miserable. If you have kids, you will be expected to bring your children into the office, rather than WFH if you have an occasional childcare issue. If you are on site teams, the plan seems to be to massively overload you with work by removing all central teams and cutting hours. People are treated like dirt. Ok, every business needs to let people go sometimes, but it feels they are forcing people out through outright hostility to avoid the cost of redundancy and to put in place the CEO’s strange anti-people philosophy. No targets, objectives, strategy or plan. The new CEO has never addressed the company since starting. Very aggressive character with unpredictable and unusual management style that sadly is cascading down to managers. Avoid this place!!!
