Pluspunten
The only silver lining of my time there was getting to meet and work with some genuinely good folks — thoughtful, talented, and collaborative people who unfortunately were also impacted by this toxic dynamic.
Minpunten
My experience at Foundit was deeply affected by the toxic leadership of the AVP of UX Design. From day one, it was clear that he lacked the skills and mindset needed to lead a team with respect or empathy. He made life difficult for nearly everyone in the team — creating a stressful, demoralizing work environment that led to the exit of every single designer within a year. Several team members were put on PIP without any real justification — it was simply a tactic to push them out because he didn’t want them on the team. He regularly spoke negatively about his own team behind their backs, showed no respect for the people who worked under him, and never acknowledged their contributions. A particularly disheartening moment was when he won a team award and proudly shared it on LinkedIn without mentioning a single team member who helped make it possible. That says everything about his leadership style — self-serving, ego-driven, and manipulative. Even junior designers who were just starting their careers were subjected to this toxic culture, setting them up for a difficult start in the industry. If you're considering joining the UX team here, I urge you to do your research and proceed with caution. A title doesn’t equal leadership — and in this case, it actively masked poor behavior that hurt a lot of good people.
