I was contacted by two different recruiting firms for the same role because my profile matched 100% the job description. The entire process took about 2 months between initial phone screening, first phone interview with the hiring manager, and then a half day of face-to-face interviews with multiple managers. There was confusion among managers over the job description and what they are looking for in a candidate (red flag!). I checked LinkedIn a few weeks later and they hired a person for that same position with a background that had nothing to do with the job description whatsoever. It was a total waste of my time.
