I have been through two completely different interview processes which somehow managed to completely put me off BBC forever. In the first case they failed to tell me that I did not get a job. After two weeks of being kept waiting (I knew that the decision should have been made in a few days) I phoned them, and a recruiter did not know if someone was hired or not. A few days later I phoned again - no response, and eventually, after my fifth phone call they sent me a regular email notifying that I did not get a job. In the second case the situation has become worse. I came for the first interview, was kept waiting for 20mins, and when I was eventually taken to the interview room, I was introduced to the recruiter that was abroad! I have to admit that I could not clearly hear what she was explaining about the role + felt nervous. However, I was a good fit for the role, and I was invited for a second interview which was supposed to be held two days later. I got in contact with the BBC recruiter when, once again, they failed to send me a confirmation email. When I phoned him, I was told that the hiring manager never offered me a second round interview and that I must have made up everything. All my attempts to describe the situation also went into the bin as the recruiter rushed to wish me 'all the best in my future job search'. Half an hour later I received another phone call from the same person. This time he laughed and apologised for the mistake, and, again, failed to tell me what happened and why the mistake was made at first place. I came for another interview, delivered my 20min presentation, and was told that the decision is going to be made the same day. Needless to mention that 4 weeks later nobody has notified me that I did not get a job... All the interviews were very straight-forward but the way they treat their candidates is clearly horrific.
