Recruiter contacted me by email. I inquired about the salary. He replied with a number that was submarket - ONE THIRD of market compensation for my skills and experience. His justification was that I was UNEMPLOYED! He actually wrote, "That's the best you're gonna get." I'm not unemployed; he has an old copy of my resume. Even so, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO WORK WITH or FOR a COMPANY THAT WILL GOUGE an EMPLOYEE or CANDIDATE BECAUSE THEY'RE UNEMPLOYED??? You've GOT to know that they're not passing on the discount tot he client: they'll charge TOP DOLLAR for you, but only pay you 1/3 of your value. That's despicable.
