Three part process, where the first step is a ~1 hour phone screening where HR talks about the company's products, values, and benefits and asks a few questions about your background and motivations. They were very friendly and I enjoyed learning about the company and role. I agreed to take the TestGorilla assessment but, in hindsight, wish I had declined. I wasn’t informed whether I passed the screening until a week later when I received the assessment and was given two days to complete it. The exam itself was average in difficulty and must be completed in under 50 minutes, but definitely requires some preparation and a strong grasp on textbook knowledge. For Web specifically, I would recommend brushing up on React concepts, design patterns, coding best practices, and easy-to-medium Leetcode. Some questions took a minute to read since they had paragraphs of relevant information; by that time, the timer was almost up. The lack of an interactive component made the experience particularly frustrating. I would have preferred the opportunity to explain my thought process to an interviewer and to ask clarifying questions. Additionally, I found it uncomfortable to be on camera without seeing who'd be evaluating me. I was sent a standard rejection email the next day with no feedback. The final step would have been an in-person technical interview. Overall, I feel the process could be improved by either sending the coding assessment before the phone screening to avoid wasting everyone's time or replacing it with a live technical interview over Zoom.
