Interview process is too long and drawn out for too little pay. Salary is only in the 40k range and was mislead about the salary and job responsibilities. The interview process… • Step 1 - Initial phone interview that lasted about 20-30 min. Pretty basic. • Step 2 - Logic test (basic E51 aptitude test…there are 12 boxes at the top, follow the directions to change the numbers in the boxes until the final step.) Pretty easy test and you have three hours to complete, but some can find the directions to change the numbers tricky. I think they have a sample at The Core Memory website. • Step 3 – Programming test. One week to complete a programming test based on a set of requirements. Somewhat easy but very time consuming! • Step 4 – Second phone interview with hiring manager. • Step 5 – In person interview with hiring manager. • Step 6 – Review programming test with senior programmer. I hadn’t looked at, or thought about the test in two months so they gave me 15 minutes to review it again…not enough time to remember everything. • Step 7 – Requested transcripts I asked several questions and the answers from the hiring manager seemed to drift with “where was I going with that?” responses. After meeting them and seeing the work environment, I felt it was not a good fit. It was as if everyone working there was clock watching, it was really quiet, the receptionist was the most popular person (employees would kill time talking to her but looked guilty when someone approached), a couple of employees would take slow walks as they were leaving, and overall it looked like the walking dead.

1. Phone screening: 30 mins; asked some standard background questions and asked to describe a technical project I worked on 2. "Logic Test": 3 HOURS; number puzzles, some easy, some very complicated. Took a lot of focus and energy, especially given that it took me 2.5 hours. You have a max of 3 hours to complete it. I don't see how the types of problems measure your aptitude for technical consulting. After 3.5 hours have now been put in, I cannot believe there is more to the process. After the logic test, the recruiter said he was "impressed with my candidacy" and wants to continue. However, he explained they are finishing the hiring process in the summer, I did the first part of the interview in winter! He said he'd follow up with me in Spring. Seriously? Why not tell me this before I put 3.5 hours in? This company needs to work on their hiring process and measures for aptitude. The logic test seemed very irrelevant to consulting. And based off of other reviews I've seen, apparently you have to also complete a programming project and in-person interviews. I don't think anyone should put in over 4 hours unpaid.
