I found the company through Hired and expressed interest. The interview consisted of a phone screen and a coding challenge, which was relatively straightforward. That's not to say it wasn't a good one—I felt that it reflected of the type of coding tasks commonly encountered in the workplace, and it offered me a chance to set myself apart by writing clean, properly-commented code instead of by regurgitating the shunting yard algorithm or implementing some data structure for the 3391st time. It's worth noting that I feel like Transcriptic is one of the few companies who actually took the time to look at my resume. My interview experience was very positive; people there obviously care about what they do and are genuinely interested in finding the best candidates that they can. Compared to my (startlingly uncoordinated) Google interview experience, it was absolutely seamless.
