Late life operations and decommissioning are some of the most complex phases an asset will face. Production declines. Teams begin to transition. Regulatory pressure increases. And decisions carry long-term consequences. Managing this internally can place significant strain on organisations. At Kent, we work alongside operators as a late life execution partner, bringing the expertise, people and flexibility needed to manage the final phase of asset life with confidence.
In large industrial projects, progress is often measured by visible milestones, but true readiness is defined by something less obvious: safe, stable energisation. In his latest thought leadership article, Carl Titchmarsh explores how switch rooms have become the critical backbone of modern facilities. With early integration, structured commissioning and a clear energisation strategy, projects can reduce risk and achieve reliable start-up without delay. This year’s edition of WindEurope in Madrid is well underway, and the Kent team has been busy connecting with partners and clients from across the offshore wind industry. The focus of conversations has been clear: how we can help execute the wind industry’s ambition to deliver complex offshore projects at scale, safely and efficiently. With decades of offshore engineering experience and a strong track record across global markets, our teams are sharing practical insight and experience on making projects work in the real world. If you’re at the event, there’s still time to connect; come and meet the team at Stand 10-B132.
Kent has been awarded the EPCm contract for MorGen Energy's 20MW green hydrogen plant in Wales, a key project supporting the UK’s transition to low-carbon energy. Backed by the UK Government’s Hydrogen Production Business Model (HAR1), the development represents an important step in scaling domestic hydrogen production. Kent’s scope includes FEED verification, detailed design, procurement support and full construction management, alongside integration of ITM’s electrolyser technology. By repurposing an existing industrial infrastructure hub, the project is a great demonstration of how Kent is helping to evolve established energy hubs to support the future of hydrogen and Net Zero delivery in the UK. 💡Thought Leadership: The next phase of offshore wind will be won on delivery As offshore wind enters its next phase of growth, the challenge is no longer ambition, it’s delivery. In his latest thought leadership article, Jason Brown explores how increasing project scale, complexity and global expansion are placing new pressure on the supply chain. From interface risk and cost inflation to co-ordination across multiple stakeholders, successful delivery now depends on stronger alignment and more integrated ways of working. With a shift toward collaborative delivery models, earlier supply chain engagement and clearer risk ownership, the sector has an opportunity to improve outcomes while supporting long-term industrial growth. 💡Thought Leadership: Delivering Brownfield Projects Without Stopping Production Brownfield environments present a different level of complexity: where projects are delivered within live, operating assets and every decision carries implications for safety, production and performance. In his latest article, David Boland explores what it takes to deliver successfully in these conditions. From rigorous verification and disciplined isolation practices to early integration between construction and operations, he highlights how coordination, planning and precision are critical to managing risk and avoiding disruption.
