🔋LG Chem and Toyota Group are targeting the cathode material market. Toyota Trading will join LG Chem as the second largest shareholder of the Gumi cathode material plant and will supply cathode materials to battery customers in North America. LG Chem's Gumi plant is a key base with an annual production capacity of 66,000 tons and has the world's highest level of competitiveness by applying LG Precursor Free (LGPF), a new process cathode material (LGPF) that directly sources metals without precursors to make products. Through this collaboration, LG Chem plans to strengthen its response to U.S. IRA regulations and enhance its supply competitiveness based on global partnerships.
🏗️LG Chem and Enilive have broken ground on Korea’s first HVO and SAF production plant at LG Chem’s Daesan Chemical Complex in South Korea. Built through their joint venture LG‑Eni BioRefining, the facility is scheduled for completion in 2027 and will process approximately 400,000 tons of renewable bio‑feedstock each year.
