DIVISION OVERVIEW - RESTRUCTURING, TURNOVER AND INSOLVENCY
Recognising the early warning signs of a potential insolvency is not always easy, however we have the experience and expertise to give the clients the right advice at the right time.
We aim to provide stakeholders with value, service and a personal approach and we are able to deliver the full range of formal and informal business recovery and insolvency services. Through the use of industry specific technology and appropriately structured teams, we are able to offer creative solutions that explore all possible options and, in some cases, may result in the survival of a business or individual.
Our team are experienced in acting for both debtor-based and creditor-based assignments. We have developed valuable relationships with regulators, financiers and across various business sectors that allow us to achieve positive outcomes for our clients.
POSITION SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE
The RTI Accountant will be responsible for a range of tasks to assist with the handling of the RTI division’s case files and administration, aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of the team, including but not limited to record-keeping, file management, data entry, and communication with clients and stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Assist with accounts receivable recording.
· Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
· Liaise with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) for Business Activity Statement (BAS) reporting and goods and services tax (GST).
· Prepare and lodge BASs on a monthly and quarterly basis.
· Administer bank accounts, including opening and closing accounts where necessary.
· Complete daily banking activities.
· Provide team members with bank statements and other banking information, as required.
· Maintain and update company registers.
· Prepare and provide assistance with bankruptcy returns, and annual administration returns with relevant government regulators.
· Prepare ‘day-1’ letters and lodgements in respect to formal restructuring and insolvency appointments.
· Prepare correspondence to directors, creditors and stakeholders, as required.
· Assist with general tasks in connection with progressing formal restructuring and insolvency appointments.
· Collect and review information and records.
· Perform other administrative duties, as required.
REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelor of Science of Accountancy
· No insolvency experience required;
· Be open, authentic and honest to uphold our values;

· Strong technical accounting skills to support administrations, receiverships and liquidations;
· Working understanding of the litigation processes which support administrations, receiverships and liquidations;
· Comfortable with investigating matters and providing a technical view for discussion;
· Ability prepare papers and analysis which is technically correct.
· Strong English communication and report writing skills.
