Pluspunten
None to highlight from my experience.
Minpunten
Extremely low pay compared to the workload. No proper training, structure, or support provided; new hires are often “thrown in at the deep end.” Zero work-life balance; schedules often change daily without consent. Strict KPI targets set by inexperienced area managers lead to being overworked and underpaid. Managers expect employees to perform tasks beyond their role without guidance. Lack of communication within stores and from management; employees are expected to find information and reports themselves. Probation often failed due to a “lack of self-directed training,” which is unrealistic without support. Toxic, competitive culture that negatively impacts mental health and personal relationships. No regular one-to-ones, catch-ups, or review meetings. High staff turnover and understaffing; management is aware but does not address retention issues. Unrealistic expectations due to inexperienced management (often recent graduates without practical store experience). Inconsistent leadership and favouritism contribute to a demoralising environment. Limited career advancement opportunities; employees often feel stuck. Excessive multitasking—handling unloading, stocking, cashiering, and management duties simultaneously..
