Pluspunten
Alten was a solid place to grow as a DevOps engineer. Your experience really depends on the project, but I got hands-on with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud platforms, which was awesome for my skills. If you're eager to learn, there’s plenty to dive into. Most teams were flexible with remote work, and as long as the work got done, no one micromanaged my hours. My coworkers were always ready to help, and there was none of that toxic competition—just a supportive vibe. The variety of projects (finance, e-commerce, etc.) kept things interesting and never boring.
Minpunten
It’s definitely a mixed bag—some projects were smooth sailing, while others were chaotic with tight deadlines and unclear client expectations. When things got busy, work-life balance took a hit, and I ended up putting in extra hours more often than I’d like. There’s also the usual consulting red tape: time tracking, project transitions, and internal processes that can feel unnecessary.
