Many managers are more focused on protecting their own interests and climbing the corporate ladder than on contributing to the company’s success. They cover for each other, creating an insular environment where accountability is rare. Another issue is no layoff, underperformed individuals are rarely removed — instead, they simply get transferred from one team to another, continuing the cycle.
