Pluspunten
Competitive salary, though not industry leading. Good opportunity to learn how a large organization functions, and evolves with the current market conditions Company is currently doing very well, so the general mood in the office is very positive and exciting. The employee discount is one of the best! The CHQ (Canadian HQ) in Burnaby has its own gym, mail room and cafeteria, all subsidized. Depends on the team and department, but generally very good work life balance. Cooperative and positive culture.
Minpunten
Poor HR department that does not support the rest of the business effectively - not very effective at providing recruiting services, not very knowledgeable about the company benefits plan, organizing teach-outs that are very substandard and not well prepared. inconsistent orientation based on which HR employee is available or not. IT department servicing the employees (such as setting up employee laptops and fixing them) is very poorly run. Requests are often ignored, issues take weeks to resolve, new employee laptops are never set up on time - the group has no sense of responsibility which is very frustrating. Growth within the company can be tough due to archaic view of employees - years of experience matter more than individual competencies. It's not as bad as unionized environments but it is still a challenge as the HR department will always stand in the way of your promotion/pay raise as they always try to bring the pay/title back to years of experience.
