1moThank you for taking the time to share such detailed and honest feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience, particularly the impact on your wellbeing and sense of value in your role.
We recognise how demanding the Store Manager role can be, and it’s concerning to hear that you feel your expertise isn’t being utilised and that support isn’t where it should be. That isn’t the experience we want for colleagues who care so strongly about our Co-op values.
We also want to be clear that raising concerns and frustrations with line managers remains important. While it may not always feel like immediate change follows, open dialogue is a critical part of how issues are understood, escalated, and improved across the business.
We are continuing to review how we support stores, including the way tools and systems are used. There are dedicated internal resources where colleagues can access guidance, raise feedback, and share concerns on areas such as workforce planning so they can be properly reviewed.
If you feel able to, we’d encourage you to make use of these channels or connect with your People team so your experience can be better understood.
